Teotitlan Tours was born in Teotitlán del Valle, a Zapotec community where weaving, food and ceremony still structure daily life. We guide because we want visitors to meet Oaxaca the way we know it: through people, not performances.
Every experience we offer exists because of a real relationship — a family of weavers who open their workshop, a cook who teaches her mole the way her mother did, a mezcalero who explains why he still roasts agave in an earthen pit. When you book with us, you travel in a small group, at a human pace, and your money stays in the valley.
Responsible travel
- · We work directly with local families and pay them fairly for their time and knowledge.
- · Groups stay small so visits remain welcome, not intrusive.
- · We ask before photographing people and private spaces, and we expect the same of our guests.
- · We buy local: food, transport and materials come from the valley whenever possible.
